| ZestQuest ZestQuest is the name given to our fundraising campaign. We want to modernise our Grade II listed building to make it safe and accessible, and so that we can continue the work we do within Chorlton and the worldwide community. Adding a spiritual dimension to community life through worship and the conduct of weddings, baptisms, and funerals is an essential element of our work. But the ‘care of souls’ to which our clergy and laity all contribute, goes much further than these basic services. We are a successful community resource. Many local groups and organisations use the space we have to offer. Indeed, the Face to Face counselling service for people on low incomes has a permanent home in one of our meeting rooms. Participating in the Chorlton Health Forum, the Local Action Partnership, and the Ward Co-ordination Group, we act as a voice for Chorlton in local decision-making. With the help of local children, we are encouraging our church grounds to grow as a wildlife habitat. With new heating and lighting systems we will be able to lower our impact on the environment. By supporting Christian Aid and Traidcraft campaigns such as Jubilee 2000 and Trade Justice we are able to help the global community by acting at the local level. Financial support for our Mission Partner in Uganda helps grass roots organisations to provide street children across Africa with essentials such as shelter and training opportunities. Chorlton Arts Festival was founded in partnership with local schools and provides an opportunity for local artists and young performers to come together, contributing to the vital character of Chorlton as a cultural centre. Using our church building and resources creatively, we have developed an education programme to support the National Curriculum and we are proud to be working with many local, multi-faith schools. In order to continue to provide a quality community resource from which
we can work toward justice and well-being we need to modernise and renew
our buildings and make them safe and accessible for ourselves and the
generations to come.
